This position will be responsible for designing, making and testing products to evaluate concepts and designs. The candidate will understand manufacturing and surface processing capabilities in order to make products less expensive, more robust for installation, able to work in a higher temperature environment, able to resist corrosion longer, etc.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA: SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER $100,000.00 Our client is an aerospace manufacturer of military combat gear. Plant revenues are at $25 million and company-wide revenues are at $160 million. The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for all aspects of Engineering or scientific assignments concerned with product development and design. This includes conducting the research required to develop new or modified products, devices, equipment, systems, methods, materials, and/or processes. In addition, the individual shall develop innovative design approaches to accomplish prescribed production objectives, and design and oversee the construction and/or modification of equipment and tools used in production. EDUCATION: The individual shall possess a BS Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (MS in Engineering preferred).
EXPERIENCE: The individual shall possess six (6) to ten (10) years of experience in the Engineering field, and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in engineering project management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The individual shall have superior computer skills, including experience with 2D and 3D CAD/CAE and Microsoft software programs. Experience with Solid Works and PDMWorks is a must, and experience with UGS NX and/or CATIA is a plus. The individual shall be detail oriented with solid organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The individual shall be self-motivated, able to work without supervision, able to manage multiple projects, and produce consistent, accurate, timely work. The individual shall be able to create, read, and understand Engineering drawings, have superior team and analytical skills, and possess very strong interpersonal skills. The individual shall be an expert in the area of standard Engineering practices. Experience with ISO 9001 is desirable. Proficiency in the design of composite structures, and designing using elastomerics, plastics, and metals is highly desired.

· Define, evaluate, recommend, and implement complex design solutions.
· Design using Engineering standard practices and current CAD/CAE techniques.
· Use 3D CAD/CAE software as define above for design.
· Develop technical sketches to communicate complex design concepts.
· Fabricate, evaluate, and test prototype designs.
· Define and develop detailed Engineering drawing packages.
· Evaluate and recommend improvements to current design and manufacturing practices.
· Plan, manage, and coordinate complex tasks/projects among team members and outside suppliers on major development projects and programs.
· Direct others on tasks related to projects and programs.
· Make decisions on standard design approaches.
· Ability to prioritize daily work.
· Create and manage project and program schedules as necessary.
· Work to established schedules.
· Create Engineering test plans and reports for product verification and validation.
· Assist in the development of standard practices and procedures.
· Technical liaison between external and internal customers.
